Slavery didn’t end in America in 1863 and it definitely did not start with the American slave trade. Every culture and time period has seen its human trafficking and slavery still exists, in fact is thriving in the present. No longer racial, or cultural, the large majority of modern trafficking is children and women/girls. We can’t just turn a blind eye when our youth is having its innocence sold and stolen.
Horror films are often a way for us to participate in escapism or become calloused to the darkest of the human psyche, however we can not let our culture turn completely hard and insensitive. Don’t become calloused by the awful inhumanities in this world, take action, raise awareness, help.
Incorporating Keith Haring’s style into these prints is an homage to his talent, his vision, his heart for humanity.
